By definition our ceramic mosaic tile designs is a non- frost proof tile and the precaution of installing this tile below your local frost line is advised. When asked, our raw material manufactures all state that their products are indeed frost proof. We are a ever growing manufacture, and an independent laboratory study is beyond our budget at this time, but will be done in the very new future. It is in the process of being done and will be very soon. The manufactures largest customer base is in the North East area of the US and they have never had issues with this. Please have your mosaics installed by a professional below your local frost line.
In our online store every effort is taken with each mosaic that Degroot Studios makes to look identical to the picture represented on the website. This truly is a handmade product as it has been for over 60 years. Hand cut clay to make tile, hand processed bisque preparation, color applied by hand with artist brushes and each piece adhered by hand to mesh to exacting standards. Sizes are close approximates and due to the nature of it being a truly handmade product certain subtle variations may occur. There are other variables including adjustment of your personal device.

Raw Pics untouched pics. Due to shine and color variables in the process of picture taking we used these pictures to modify into accurate pictures suitable for the web
Installed Pics These are pictures of our Mosaic Designs installed in the pools underwater. We do not have them all at this time but are working at this now.
Product information Page This includes information such as number of pieces, number of different colors and sample colors provided by our glaze manufactures for each color used in the Mosaic Design.
Upon reception of your package inspect the contents immediately . Any damage or discrepancies must be reported within 72 hours upon receiving the package. In the rare occurrence that there is a situation, at the desecration of Degroot Studios, the manufacturer, we will either replace damaged parts or the entire mosaic, at no cost to our customer. Ground ship only. Expedited shipping can be arranged with additional charges to the customer.
A word about custom designed mosaics. It is the customers responsibility to provide adequate artwork for their desired design. We do know that this is not always possible. We do have a graphic artist that we work with to make your custom design possible. The cost of having artwork produced is not less that $50 and not more that $100. This must be paid in full before the artist will start. The price will include one modification. If the project moves forward the cost of artwork is applied to the overall cost of the mosaic. Every attention is taken to reproduce your design but due to the difference in graphic artwork and the ceramic tile medium there maybe some subtle differences. A bit about colors. Our glazes are made by nationally known manufactures. They are not paint and often can not be mixed to achieve specific colors but many times we can. If color samples are desired there is a fee of $25 dollars plus shipping for color samples. If we come to an understanding the custom project is done this cost will also be credited on the cost of mosaic design. There is a $250 minimum cost on all custom designs. No exceptions. CUSTOM IS TIME CONSUMING AND NO CORNERS CAN BE CUT ON TIME OF PRODUCTION. The busier we are due to seasonal demands the longer custom will take. Often in the height of season we stop doing custom altogether.
All returns for any reason are subject to a 20% restocking fee. All returns must be authorized by the manufacturer and must have a return number issued by the manufacturer written on the outside of the box. The design must be returned in original condition. If a box is received without this number, it will be stored unopened for 30 days and no money will be refunded. After 30 days the box will be opened, and the product will be resold. All sales are final after 30 days.
